W2 Format Changes for January 1, 2009.

We have completed the W2 required changes needed for the 2008 taxation year. These changes have now been installed on your system.

The RA record field Personal Identification Number (PIN) has been changed to User Identification (User ID). Field 17 on the Static Screen of the Employer Constants has been changed to EFW2 USER ID.

The RA record field Preferred Method of Problem Notification Code now only accepts 1- Email and 2- US Postal. The 3,4,12,5 Create EFW2 File has been adjusted to reflect only these options.

The 2008 AccuWage program is now available. The W2 EFW2 file format has been check against the 2008 AccuWage process to ensure no file format errors exist. Any errors received when you process your file through the AccuWage should only contain data errors or preferably no errors.

Don’t forget to adjust the taxation year and Social Security Wage Limit fields under the Static Employer Information section of the Employer Constants (4,2,11.2) in the payroll database.
